Management Team
The responsibilities involved in the SSGL Faecal and Seweage Treatment Plant are considerable. The treatment plant’s main purpose is to appeal to Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) by offering a solid waste and sewer disposal alternative, and to environmentally conscious minded consumers by developing products that include recycled waste. Each executive member is charged with several responsibilities that are imperative to fulfill the duties in producing such unique products.
Haidar has over 30 years’ experience in the field of Business Management, IT and telecom projects. He worked as Managing Director to some of the largest companies in West Africa and has been behind some of the well-known projects to many government and non government projects in Ghana and Nigeria.
Recently, Haidar became the Managing Director of Sewerage Systems Ghana Limited, and took over the project of building the new sewerage treatment facility at Lavender Hill, as well as rehabilitating the existing Mudor plant. He also overlooks the construction of the new sewerage treatment facility at Kotoku.
His expertise in business management, contract negotiation, finance and strong background in construction, all combine with the team of experts at Sewerage Systems Ghana Limited, gives the company an edge over many other competitors. Haidar has a degree in computer science and has spent the past 30 years, living in Nigeria, USA and Ghana.
Begun my industrialized career with Tema Steel Works in 2007 as a Technical Assistant in the Maintenance Department and later joined the Coca – Cola Bottling Company of Ghana in 2008 as a Maintenance Technician and rose through the ranks to become the Assistant Manager – Maintenance and Planning in 2013.
Instrumental in the team that led The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Ghana to pass and successively
sustain all ISO Certifications and other Mandatory Maintenance Audits, A key team member in the Implementation of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Local Team leader during the installation and commissioning of a New 38,000 BPH Pasteurizer for Schweppes malt production, Local Team leader during the installation of a new Auxiemba labeling machines, Supervised the installation of a Bottle Rejection Conveyor system.
Francis joined SSGL in March 2017 and has more than 15 years’ post-graduation working experience in senior and management positions. His field of specialization is Financial & Management accounting, Internal controls, Budgeting, Accounting information systems and Procurement.
He is a proud product of Labone Secondary School, Accra where he had his ‘O’ and ‘A” Levels certificates. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University of Cape Coast, MBA Finance from KNUST School Business and also a qualified Accountant with ACCA –UK.
He had previously work with organisations such as Scanship Alraine Gh.Ltd; South Akim Manufacturing Ltd; FC Skin & Beauty Clinic; Coca-Cola Equatorial Africa Territory, British Council Ghana; Zoomlion Ghana, Liberia & Angola Ltd.
He has attended various capacity building programs, seminars and courses.
He is a customer service oriented person and won the British Council Ghana Customer Service Excellence Awards for 2010.
Florence is currently the General Manager of SSGL. She has twenty years’ experience in Civil Engineering mainly in the field of waste water, water supply and sanitation. She has over fifteen years work experience in the public sector. Florence is a senior member of the Ghana Institution of Engineers and she holds a Master of Engineering degree in Sanitary Engineering from the Institute of Hydraulic and Infrastructural Engineering Delft, the Netherlands (2001) and a BSc. Civil Engineering degree from the University of Science and Technology Kumasi (1997).
She has hands-on experience in the management of projects and worked as a Water Engineer with the Architectural and Engineering Services Limited for over fifteen years. She was the Project Water Engineer on the construction of seat of government and presidency- Flagstaff House where she supervised the construction of a sewerage plant. She was also the supervising engineer for the construction of a new office building for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was responsible for the supervision of water supply, irrigation and sewerage system for the project. She managed the construction of the modern Lavender Hill Faecal treatment Plant which is the first of its kind in West Africa.
LOLA ASISEH ASHITEY is an innovative and hardworking forerunner with over ten years working experience in the areas of Business Development, Customer Service, Public Relations and Training. She has worked with many companies including The Coca Cola Bottling Company of Ghana Limited where she served in the Indirect Sales Team and in Vodafone Ghana Limited where she acquired her expertise in the delivery of excellent customer service.
Mrs. Ashitey worked as the Head of Training for Teletech Customer Care Management Ghana Limited (a
company that handles the Vodafone Call Centre) and moved to Zoomlion Ghana Limited where she worked as the Head of Business Development in the Eastern Region. Lola has a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and a Certificate in training from Teletech University.
Mrs. Ashitey took a Leadership Essentials course at the Ivey Business School in Western University – Canada and is the first Female president of Enuctus in Ghana. She represented Ghana in the 2006 SIFE world competition in Paris France and served as the publicity committee Chairperson for GIMPA Alumni -2015.
She is the vice president of the SIP (Sanitation Improvement Package) Council of Zoomlion and she currently serve as the Business Development and Communications Manager for Sewerage Systems Ghana Limited. Lola is a go getter and faiths to be branded as an excellent corporate woman and mother.
Dr Emmanuel Ntumy is a hardworking and talented young engineer. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Aviation and Space Technology (Mechanical) from the National Aviation University in Kiev, Ukraine.
He went on to pursue a Masters in Aerospace Engineering at Kingston University, London United Kingdom. His strong desire for the best and excellence led him to go for his PhD in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Manchester, also in the United Kingdom. The combination of practical engineering training and PhD research experience has made him a versatile engineer.
While training, he developed excellent team-working, analytical and problem-solving skills which have made him resourceful.
He values hard work, creativity and innovation so these enabled him to get a First Class Bachelor’s Degree and together with his Masters project dissertation team, the overall Best Dissertation Project
prize at Kingston University’s School of Aerospace and Aircraft Engineering.
After obtaining his PhD he relocated to Ghana and joined Regent University College of Science and Technology as a part-time lecturer. There, he taught engineering courses, engaged in research, designing of new courses and supervising quality student research. He is passionate about high class engineering work, innovation and research. In addition to the English language, he can read, speak and write Russian Language.
He is currently the Technical Support Manager at Sewerage Systems Ghana Ltd, a subsidiary of the Jospong Group of Companies.
She is a Human Resource Professional with over 15 years demonstrated experience in Human Resource Management / Administration. She is an experienced recruiter who has an eye for identifying the right caliber of staff, managing staff performance, appraising staff performance, designing Human Resource Policies and Procedures and designing motivational packages to ensure her staff are retained. In a nut shell, she has a track record of leading and successfully managing people in organizations.
Mrs. Spio is a Barrister at Law, she holds an LLB from the Faculty of Law,University of Ghana and a BL from the Ghana School of Law, Makola. She also studied for a Master’s in Business Administration (Human Resource Management) from the University of Ghana Business School in 1999 and a BA (Hons) English from the same University in 1994.
She started her career as a Human Resource Officer and progressed to the position of a Human Resource Manager at Actionaid Ghana. She later had a stint with Consultancy in Human Resource Management/Administration at Spio&Spio Consulting. She later joined Beacon Books Ghana Limited, as a Head of Human Resources/ Administration. Her last employment was with Commercial Investments Limited as Head, Human Resource
Management/Administration.
Clearly, Mrs. Spio’s strong desire for the Human Resource Management function led her to join Sewerage Systems Ghana Limited as the Head of Human Resource/Administration.
She brings her combined professions in Human Resource Management and Law to inure to
the benefit of the Company.
Issahaku Ahmed was born in the Eastern regional capital Koforidua. He had his basic school education at Kyeremanteng L/A junior high school in Koforidua-Ada and subsequently furthered at Koforidua Secondary school (now Oti Boateng senior high school) where he graduated as the best graduating student in 1999.
Ahmed was admitted to read Chemical Engineering at the Kumasi polytechnic in the year 2002 and graduated in the year 2005 with first class honours where he was hired as teaching and research assistant. He was the first to have graduated with first class since the inception of the department.
Ahmed was duly admitted by the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and technology and was awarded Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Master of Philosophy in Physical/ Computational Chemistry.
Ahmed started his career with Guinness Ghana Breweries Ltd. in August, 2006 as Laboratory analyst
(Shift supervisor) and later joined The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Ghana Ltd. in October, 2006 and worked till January 2017.
He was first employed as Laboratory technician and was promoted to assume the position of Quality Assurance Supervisor in the year 2010. In the year 2015, he became the first practitioner in operational
excellence at The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Ghana Ltd. Ahmed is one of the few people across the West African sub region to have obtained Practitioner (Black Belt) certificate in Operational Excellence (LEAN & SIX SIGMA).
He is one of the top notch personnel in Quality systems management, he has high level problem solving
capabilities with key interest in both academic and industrial research.
He was instrumental in the team that led TCCBCGL to pass and subsequently sustain all the ISO certificates associated with food industry (ISO; Q 9001, E 14001, OHAS 18001 and ISO 22000 (FSSC)).
Ahmedhas four scientific publications in an internationally recognized peer reviewed journals. He is a member of the Ghana Chemical Society and currently working as the Head of Laboratory/Quality Control & Research with Sewerage Systems Ghana Ltd.
Joseph, a Health and Safety, Environmental Compliance and Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
expert has over fifteen years working experience from varied organizational backgrounds. He was trained at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and holds a Master of Science Degree in Natural Resources Management with specialization in Agroforestry.
He currently works as Health and Safety Officer at SSGL, having held a similar position briefly at Accra Compost and Recycling Plant. While working with SG Sustainable Oils Ghana/Cameroon Limited, Mr. Siaw assisted the organization to comply with its safety and environmental reporting obligations to the Round on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), the international regulating body responsible for sustainable oil palm production worldwide.
As Sustainability Manager, he ensured the health, safety and welfare of employees, coordinated strict adherence to environmental obligations and social responsibility agreements to land owning communities in Ghana and in theRepublic of Cameroon.
In between times, Mr. Siaw undertook a number of research consultancies with firms such as The Urban Associates Limited in Accra, The Centre for Geospatial Intelligence Service (CGIS) of the Institute of Local Government Studies, Madina Accra, MASDAR Consultants UK, Evanto Resources Limited and STRED Consult.
Joseph also specializes in Sustainable Environmental Management,Geographic Information Systems
(GIS), High Conservation Value (HCV) Area Management, Monitoring and Evaluation and Rural Community Engagement.
Eric Simon Amofa-Sarkodie, is a Chemical Engineer and a multi skilled Metallurgist. He is the Head of Process at Sewerage Systems Ghana Limited.
He is a product of Prempeh College, Kumasi and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and Master’s degree in Environmental Science from the same University. His research area was Phytoremediation of Arsenic
contaminated soils. He also holds Certificate in EMS/ Lead Auditor Training Course (IRCA) & Lead Environmental Course (IEMA) from SGS United Kingdom Limited. He also holds Certificate of Competency for Plant/Processing/Metallurgical from Inspectorate Division of Minerals Commission (MinCom).
He worked with AngloGold Ashanti Obuasi Mine and Asanko Gold Ghana Limited as Supervisor, Metallurgist, Senior Metallurgist and Environmental Management Rep (ISO 14001 2004 Standards), has experience in Gold Processing, Waste Water Treatment, Biological Treatment Plants and Faecal
Sludge Management. He has hands on experience in managing projects, commissioning, optimizing and running (operations).
Eric supervised the construction of AngloGold Ashanti Obuasi Mine Biological (Microbial) Waste Water
Treatment Plant and Actifllo Plants (Chemical Waste Water Treatment Plant). He commissioned, optimized and ran the Biological Waste Water Treatment Plant. He was part of the commissioning engineers for the Actiflo Plant, optimized and ran the plant. At Asanko Gold Ghana Limited, he was part of the commissioning engineers and assisted in optimizing the plant for both gold processing and waste/water treatment plants.
Eric has also attended seminars on Waste Management Strategy, Emergency Response Procedures and
Sanitary Sewer Modelling with EPA SWMM, etc.
He is a member of Ghana Institute of Engineers and he is a Referee of Ghana Premier league and a member of Ghana Referees Association.
Kwasi studied at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology for a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering. Haven completed his National service at Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited in 2005, Kwasi started working as Electrical/Automation Engineer at the packaging department. During his nine years working period with Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited, he occupied
various positions which includes; Shift Packaging manager, Maintenance manager and Site Electrical/Automation/Instrumentation manager.
In 2013 he obtained a project management certificate from GIMPA.
He left left Guinness Ghana and joined Kasapreko Company Limited as Engineering Services Manager
where he managed all Electrical, Mechanical and Automation Engineers including expatriates in the Production, Blending and Utility departments. Kwasi has in-depth knowledge in Electrical Automation and control, Instrumentation, High and Low voltage power controls, people management, Electrical troubleshooting, negotiating skills, procurement, project management, maintenance, production and world
class manufacturing systems such as TPM, TQM, RCM & FMECA.
